Astra was born in Singapore in 1995 and moved to Australia at the age of 10.

Career highlights have included her first WTA final 2019, Astra’s first French Open win in 2020, followed by a career-high ranking and First WTA title in 2021.

In 2022, for the second consecutive year, Astra reached the second round at the Indian Wells Open.
